A WALK A WEEK
The Daffodil Woods

The days are getting warmer and the evenings are getting lighter, I love it. This time of year is the perfect time to see wild daffodils. And I know just the place.

West Dean Woods makes for a lovely walk all year round, but at this time, the sea of yellow is special. I would struggle to explain the parking, route and logistics in this small paragraph. So I will link to a helpful guide published on Google. Do check this out as it makes for a great Easter time walk! Link here.

ONE FOR ALL
Screen On The Green

This event is a few weeks out, but it is a definite for the calendar. Let’s call it a heads-up.

Stonepillow does amazing work for the homeless around Chichester. They are also bringing more joy to us all through an outdoor cinema experience on Sunday the 7th of April. I watched Wonka when it was first released, very good. So good even, I will happily watch it a second time but this time, outside in the sun and for a great cause.

FIND A BARGAIN
The Scouts jumble sale + more

‘One man’s trash is another man’s treasure’ Yotam Ottolenghi. Everyone has different tastes, likes and dislikes and that’s what makes us special. Jumble and car-boot sales can be a way to arbitrage this. This Saturday at their HQ on Sherborne Road, the Scouts are hosting a jumble sale. Just maybe you might find a bargain. More info can be found here.

I thought it was worth including a few car-boot sales also for you extra keen bargain hunters:

LOCAL CUISINE
The Sty in Chi

Last week Mexican food was mentioned, this week it’s a ‘higgle piggle hoggery’. With the abundance of lovely cafes our plus-signed town centre is home to, I’ll start sharing some in this newsletter.

Yorkshire pudding wraps. Pulled pork sausage rolls. And a whole lot more: The Sty in Chi truly brings unique food to Chichester’s North Street. It has been a great addition since launching in 2023. Find it at the bottom of North Street and see the whole menu here!

LIVE & LOCAL SPORT
Football, rugby and more football

A busy week for local sports in Chichester. Two of the three home fixtures are within the vicinity of Oaklands Park. Football and rugby are all I have covered thus far. However, If you know of any other sporting events in the area - let me know! It would be great to feature them.

Thursday 21st 19:45 - Selsey Ladies vs Moneyfields

Saturday 23rd 15:00 - Chichester City FC vs Sheppey

Local sport is always great fun so get down and show some support! If watching from the TV sounds more appealing however, England takes on Brazil in a pre-Euro’s friendly on Saturday night.

That’s all from me, have a lovely Sunday.

I’ll see you in precisely seven days.

Reuben.
